This past weekend was planned special - just for Reese! During the whole month of January she counted down the days until the 21st, which is when we had a girl party planned with mommy, Aunt Kara and Aunt Jenna. A girl party that included a visit to CMU to watch their gymnastics team compete.
By the time Saturday arrived, Reese could hardly sleep at night. She kept getting up to tell me that it was almost time for the girl party! I suppose I should have kept it a secret because she was a tad bit sleepy once the day actually arrived. But I loved her excitement and counting down the days with her. Sometimes half the fun is the anticipation!
Saturday with Reese, Jenna and Kara was perfect! Have I mentioned that I love Matt's sisters??!! And it was lovely to spend all day focusing on Reese, even though her lack of sleep won out in the end! A very special day. Turns out, though, that I had another special day spending lots of time with her the next day - only this day wasn't planned.
Reese fell at church on Sunday and got a little gash on her forehead. I don't think it hurt too badly, but the blood scared her immensely. I am not a nurse. Have had no first aid training (maybe I should change that). So I was incredibly grateful that I have a lot of friends at church who are nurses. They stepped right in and took charge. After a trip to the ER and 3 stitches, Reese was excited to get home and show Jackson her battle wound.
So I ended up with another special day with Reese. We chatted lots with Daddy in the emergency room.
And late that afternoon, while everyone else went to church, Reese and I cuddled and watched a movie. She's a trooper! Love that girl! So glad she's mine!

Poor Reese. But those times to focus, even in doctor's office where know that the injury is not life threatening, are precious. I had one of those last year when Hadley fell at Immanuel and needed stitches!
